Red Dot Design Awards 2020: Futurity and iQ Surface awarded

16th April 2020

The distinction “Red Dot” has become established internationally as one of the most sought-after seals of quality for good design.
Homogenous vinyl collection iQ Surface and the new Desso carpet range Futurity were singled out for their outstanding design quality - each taking home the prestigious Red Dot award.

iQ Surface

Tarkett's homogeneous vinyl range was awarded a Red Dot for outstanding design quality.
Unlocking creativity in design and architecture, this collection magnifies the potential of one of Tarkett's most iconic product families.
Design studio Note collaborated with Tarkett to develop five colour stories that can be cohesively combined according to hue, style or narrative.

A limitless landscape of expressive colour that empowers the designer as much as it does the end user, the collection was created to "dress the room" and can be applied across floors, walls and furniture.
iQ Surface carries Tarkett’s trademark of durability, sustainability and ease of installation. After years of use it can be recycled back to generate a new generation of materials.

Futurity

The new Desso carpet tile range won a Red Dot for its good design quality in the new metacategory “Innovative Products”.
Inspired by recycled raw materials and an ode to our beautiful earth and its precious resources, Futurity invites raw products to speak for themselves, exemplifying Tarkett's commitment to environmental awareness.
Its rough look and feel is inspired by pressed piles of recycled yarns. Indeed, the random nature of Futurity's design and colour combinations is a direct reference to Tarkett's recycling process of used material, including yarn fluff from the group's carpet recycling facility in Waalwiijk, The Netherlands.
Futurity will be available from June 2020.
