Discover Uplift, a captivating installation by Tarkett & Note (design studio) presented as part of the FRAMING exhibition at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen.
Uplift, the latest collaboration between Tarkett and Note, enhances the Odd Fellow Palace staircase with sustainable designs from the DESSO Retrace carpet tile collection as well as a selection of wood flooring. The visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the installation as they walk up and down.
The installation offers a fresh and inspiring outlook on textile carpet tiles and wood, while demonstrating how sustainable materials can fuel groundbreaking design.
The wood is ash, treated in an unexpected way. By working with expressions that go beyond the normal look of wood floors, Tarkett wants to inspire a broader thinking when it comes to choosing your raw material.
On your way up, you will encounter pillars clad in textile carpet, which has been elevated and shaped to connect floors instead of covering them. The circularity and ease of Tarkett textile carpet enabled Note to create a sense of a new world: a soft, wondrous environment that inspires you to look up and explore.
Tarkett has always aspired to lead the Way to Better Floors, and the DESSO Retrace collection exemplifies this commitment. Manufactured entirely using 100% green energy, DESSO Retrace is inspired by the circular notion: “made to be remade’’. It is one of the most sustainable carpet tiles on the market : it is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver and is made from 100% recycled yarn with a backing of 60% recycled material. Like all Tarkett textile carpets, DESSO Retrace is designed in two parts, yarn and backing that can easily be separated and recycled for new carpet tile production.
In addition, the carpet tile collection enhances interiors with its harmonious design, pleasing texture, and acoustic comfort.
After 3daysofdesign, the materials will arrive in Oslo to be used again for an installation at DOGA (design and Architecture Norway) during Designers’ Saturday, Sept 8-10. The textile will then be recycled through Tarkett’s ReStart® take-back program.
Uplift exhibition by Tarkett at FRAMING, from 7-9 June 2023.
