How Co-Creation can help retailers stand out
If you are visiting France, come to « L’Atelier Tarkett », located rue de Saintonge, at the heart of Paris. Our new co-creation area will open in September 2017. Come and see the material, tell our design experts team about your project and discover the tools that will help you make your project come true.
The purpose of “L’Atelier Tarkett” is to offer architects and designers a unique space to be inspired, to select material solutions and to creatively work on their specific projects. It also gives them the opportunity to meet and understand the potential of Tarkett’s flooring solutions. Part of the Atelier Tarkett’s features is the iD Lab, a dedicated space to elaborate customized layouts or flooring solutions.
To gain top of mind visibility and differentiate on the market, interior design is becoming a key success factor in the field of stores & shops, hospitality and leisure. All the more that brick and mortar actors have to differentiate themselves from fully digital ones that don’t have the same constraints. Retail interior design has then sharpened year by year and this dynamic has given flooring the opportunity to play its own part of the game. Personalizing materials and floor layouts grow strong in the creative process.
A good illustration of this differentiation trend is one of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants in Cornwall. For this incredible place by the ocean, architects and Tarkett teams collaborated to create a custom-made floor using the cutting-edge technology of Floorcraft. Black and white mini triangles of high traffic vinyl were custom cut and precisely pre-assembled in a form of a large size puzzle pieces. They were then installed as circulation around the restaurant’s bar, inspiring a kitchen atmosphere right at the heart of the restaurant.
