Tarkett Lino Originale has just received the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023. Amongst linoleum flooring materials, the new Tarkett Lino Originale collection stands out as the most sustainable linoleum flooring solution, C2C Certified® Gold and delivering the lowest carbon footprint in its category throughout its lifecycle (EPD N°4789356590.101.1). Closing the loop on linoleum waste is an industry game changer. Tarkett can achieve the post-use linoleum collection through Restart®, its take-back and recycling programme. Each recycled square meter of old Linoleum saves 5.4kg of eq. CO2.
Tarkett Lino Originale was inspired by the iconic 100% Linen design, a formula that reveals the untouched colour of linoleum natural ingredients and the feeling of a vegetal leather. By adding the best of pigments approved to reach the Cradle to Cradle® Gold rating, the Tarkett design team created 16 new unique and soft colours with tone-on-tone and pastel shades, ideal for coordinating interior floors, walls and furniture. Its new matt finish gives expression to the natural, authentic character of the material itself.
Realising the expressive possibilities of a material appreciated by designers for its supple, second skin quality, akin to a vegetal leather, the product can also seamlessly be applied to walls and furniture. Tarkett Lino Originale can be used to coordinate interior design schemes to a greater extent than previously possible. It is especially well fit for defining education and healthcare spaces, highlighting architectural details and harmonising surfaces.
Every year, the Red Dot Award: Product Design sets out to find the year’s best products. The products selected by the Red Dot Jury to win an award may be aesthetically appealing, functional, smart or innovative, but what they all have in common is their outstanding design.
