Modern Office Design in Barons Kvartāls – Quality, Aesthetics, and Comfort

In the heart of Riga, within the dynamic Barons Kvartāls, another impressive office interior project has recently been completed - one that reflects contemporary workplace design trends and the highest standards of quality.

The project’s author, designer Anna Ilmere from Anna Hanna Design, has created a space that is aesthetically appealing, functional, and inspiring at the same time.

The Barons Kvartāls office buildings have long been known for their distinctive approach to spatial development - they carefully select suppliers and collaborate only with trusted partners to ensure the highest level of comfort for tenants. This project is no exception.

The 6th floor interior features premium-quality materials, such as Desso Desert AC89 2914 carpet tiles from Tarkett, which stand out for their elegant texture and practicality in office environments, as well as LVT tiles from the iD Inspiration 55 collection.

The flawless flooring installation was carried out by the team of professionals at SIA M Floors, a company in Latvia renowned for its precision and high work standards.

The result is a space where aesthetics, comfort, and functionality come together to create an environment that promotes productivity and inspires employees every day.

Interview with the Project Author - Anna Ilmere (Anna Hanna Design)

Anna, what inspired you to realise this project using these particular materials and colours?

The foundation of the project was the company’s existing brand book - it already defined the tones and atmosphere that characterise the company’s identity. This served as a creative starting point for harmoniously incorporating the brand’s colour palette into the office interior while also playing with it to create a modern, visually balanced, and inspiring work environment.

When working on office interiors, what is the most challenging part, and what must always be kept in mind?

The most complex stage is usually creating the concept - “capturing” the feeling of the space, understanding the client’s wishes, company culture, and daily needs. Once the vision and functional requirements are clear, everything else - material selection, colour combinations, layout, and details - comes together very organically, and the work progresses smoothly.

Have you worked with Tarkett carpet tiles before?

Yes, I have worked with Tarkett carpet tiles in several projects. I’m familiar with their quality, product variety, and practicality in office environments, which is why this material often becomes my deliberate choice.

What office interior trends are currently popular in Latvia?

Trends are becoming increasingly diverse, but the open-plan office concept remains consistently popular. Many new offices are being designed specifically for this type of work environment. However, design is becoming more and more tailored to each company and its employees’ work style - there is no longer a universal solution. Every office is an individual project in which the company’s specifics, the potential of the space, and the creation of a functional, aesthetic, and employee-friendly environment all play a crucial role.

Design That Inspires and Motivates

This project is a vivid example of how careful attention to detail and the selection of high-quality materials can transform an office into a place where people truly want to work and grow. Barons Kvartāls once again proves that Riga’s office environment is becoming increasingly refined, modern, and people-oriented - just as the work culture of the 21st century demands.
