Riga’s Children’s Clinical University Hospital has recently opened a new Emergency Medical, and an Ambulatory Health Centre designed to enhance patient care and comfort. Becoming fully operational in 2024, the facility features private single-patient rooms, specialised infection control units, and spaces tailored for patients with specific needs to ensure a high standard of care.

Tarkett iQ Surface flooring was used throughout, creating a safe and hygienic environment that combines durability with a contemporary design aesthetic. iQ floors are particularly suited for healthcare facilities, with their enhanced hygiene capabilities and ability to withstand decades of constant use without a change in appearance.

Designed by architects Mārtiņš Ošāns and Alīna Kļava from Mark Arhitekti, the new centre focuses on child-friendly aesthetics, with many relaxation zones and playful interior design. Valued at over €25 million and co-funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility, this project is helping to build a more patient-centric healthcare system for children in Latvia.
