w∞d.ii – A Mobile Future for Circular Thinking

The w∞d.ii project by WoodenValley gGmbH is exemplary of a new, future-oriented understanding of education. As a mobile learning space on wheels, the tiny-house format brings circular thinking directly to schools – making sustainability tangible for students and teachers through workshops, learning materials, and its Cradle-to-Cradle-inspired construction.

The goal was to create learning environments with a flexible yet high-quality interior concept that fosters ecological, systemic, and critical thinking – in a way that is accessible, local, and encourages experimentation and hands-on creativity.

Tarkett flooring installed

For the interior of w∞d.ii, two Tarkett flooring solutions were selected, known for their environmental friendliness, design quality, and durability:

• Lino Loose-Lay xf² (4.3 mm) → 15 m² of interior flooring
• Grace – Oak RUSTIC PLANK XT, single plank → 15 m² of interior flooring

Focus on sustainability

The project follows clear ecological objectives. When selecting the flooring, the focus was on circularity, indoor air quality, environmental footprint, and Cradle to Cradle certifications. Participation in Tarkett’s ReStart take-back and recycling program enabled a resource-efficient implementation that also addressed waste reduction.
