Underlayers for wood
For a floating installation – when the wooden floor is joined together without being attached to the subfloor – you should use an underlay material to level the surface, optimize sound performance and increase walking comfort. Tarkett Tarkofoam II and Tarkoflex II meet all these criteria.Remember the vapour barrier!
A vapour barrier is a polythene foil that prevents humidity migration from the sub-floor to the wood floor. It is applied over the entire subfloor and should be laid with an overlap of at least 200 mm. The underlay material Tarkoflex II also acts as a vapour barrier.
